INTRODUCTION: The heart is located in the chest area of the body. It is very small, around the size of a balled fist. Its function is to pump oxygen - rich blood throughout the body. This process is better known as respiration and it's by - products are CO2 which is exhaled. The level of CO2 and O2 affect the heart beat rate. There are myriad other factors affecting the heart rate such as the body mass, exercise, adrenalin, stress, nervousness, fitness and health, age, gender, diet, intake of drugs, make - up of genes, muscle mass, time of day and environment temperature.
