Anna Twyne 8-30-05 Lab Report Our group observed our heart rate under different circumstances. Question: How does being under water affect our heart rate? We are measuring our heart rate and also the temperature of the water. We also were trying to answer the following questions while doing our experiment: Can we hold our breath for 1 minute? Does your heart rate change while holding your breath? Does your heart rate change while you are submerged under cold water/warm water? Our hypothesis was formed by thinking that if you are submerged in either cold/or warm water your heart rate will increase. Where we right????????? The first thing we had to do was to make sure that our experiment was reliable. It was. We held our breath for 1 minute sitting up in a chair, to get a baseline heart rate. Then we checked the temperature of the warm water, it was 78.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The cold water...
