Aim: To test the sensitivity of the skin at ten different parts of the body- Fingertips, Upper lip, cheek, nose, palm, forehead, foot, back, shoulder and neck. The sensitivity will be tested in two methods to make sure the results are accurate. The first method will find the minimum or threshold distance that is required for the subject to be able to discriminate between 1 and 2 points. The second method will verify results, the distance between both ends will be kept constant - 0.5cm, 1cm, 2cm, 3cm and we will check whether the subject feels 1 or 2 points. Hypothesis: Since we mostly use our fingertips, palm, feet etc to touch most objects it is logical to assume that the skin in these areas will be more sensitive as compared to skin in areas like the back and shoulder which are not as sensitive.
