Humans as Organisms Coursework * Trends and Patterns The trend of my graph is an upward trend starting with the first point at 93 beats (b)/min then after 30 seconds of exercise my pulse rate increased by 82 b/min to 175 b/min. It then increased again to 196 b/min, which is an increase of 21 b/min. After 90 seconds of exercise my pulse rate was 205 b/min and after 120 seconds it increased to 244 b/min which is an increase of 39 b/min. This suggests a positive correlation between exercise duration and pulse rate, where correlation indicates the extent to which two variables are related. * Analysis My graph shows that during exercise your pulse rate increases. This is due to when you exercise you need more oxygen to feed your working muscles giving them the energy to contract.
