1 Physical Fitness and Health In relation to Coronary Heart Disease Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States each year. Some 7 million Americans suffer from Coronary heart disease, the most common of heart disease. Coronary heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in the U.S. each year where more that 500,000 Americans die from heart attacks caused by CHD. Even the highly active have to go by certain rules to stay clear of the number one killer. What can we do to prevent this disease? Well it is not going to be easy, but it all starts with exercise. Exercise is vital for a strong heart. Of course that means we have to physically get up and fight back through a heart pumping aerobic workout.
