Body in Action-Tasks 3 and 4 In tasks 3 and 4 of my assignment I am required to create and write up an experiment to compare the short-term affects that aerobic and anaerobic activity have on the body. I will also be explaining the roles of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The respiratory system The respiratory system supplies the blood with oxygen. It does this by making us breathe. Respiration is the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. When we breathe in, we inhale oxygen and when we breathe out we exhale carbon dioxide. The respiratory system consists of the mouth, nose, lungs trachea and the diaphragm. Oxygen enters the respiratory system when we breathe in through the mouth and nose.
