As 1: How does the site and the supporting sources help you explain why Samuel Greg built 'Quarry Bank Mill' in that place? The land upon which Samuel Greg built his mill in 1784 had many advantages. Near to the grounds of the mill there was a river. This was The River Bollin (shown in source 4). The river provided maximum power for the water wheels in his mill to be worked. Greg built a mill pond to make sure that water would always be available. In summmertime the water would evaporate and there would be nothing left, this is why Greg built a storage place for water so the water saved from springtime would be there to be used for summer. In the winter water would freeze up, but because Greg had stored water beforehand this wouldn't be a problem. A dam was also made opposite the mill which stored and...
