HOW MANY CARBON DIOXIDE BUBBLES ARE PRODUCED WHILE REACTING GLUCOSE, YEAST AND GAS? Aim: To find out how much carbon dioxide is released by counting the number of bubbles released into the beaker in one minute. Prediction: My prediction is that the more glucose added to the yeast will make the yeast respire anaerobically to produce more carbon dioxide. This is because the yeast feeds on sugars, the more sugar or glucose it has to feed on the greater the amounts of by-products it produces. E.g. If there is more glucose than yeast the yeast will try and use up all the glucose leaving it's by-product as carbon dioxide gas.
