An investigation into the effects of Carbon Dioxide concentration on the rate of photosynthesis by Daniel Lynch 11FS Plan and Method Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants produce food from sunlight. To find out how carbon dioxide affects the rate of photosynthesis I will use an underwater plant called Elodea, when I have the Elodea I will put my Elodea in a beaker with 250cm cubed of water in it. Then I will place a funnel over the Elodea and place a test tube over the top of the funnel. When this is done I will count how many bubbles are given off in thirty minutes. After these thirty minutes are up I will add 0.1 gram of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate and count the bubbles given off in thirty minutes.
