Science coursework Aim: to find out which material will insulate water most effectively. Method First of all I will gather my equipment. Then I will boil the water in the kettle. When the water has boiled I will pour 150ml of it into a beaker. I will then place a temperature probe which is connected to a data logger into the beaker. I will place one of the five materials around the beaker affixing it with an elastic band and placing a cardboard lid on it. The cardboard lid will have a whole big enough for my temperature probe to go through. When the water has reached 70° I will start my stopwatch. I will be timing for 10 minutes taking down the temperature of the water every 2 minutes. I will repeat this experiment 4 times, each time changing the material.
