Review of the self-portrait by Thomas Hart Benton. Thomas Hart Benton was born in 1889 and died in 1975 he was 86 years old when he died. Thomas Hart Benton was born in a small town in Missouri the town was called Neosha. When Thomas was 17 years old he went to study at study at the institute of art in Chicago after two years he then went to study another three years at academic Julian in Paris. He settled in New York in 1912 and in the style of abstract until 1920 where he took up regionalism. He got his reputation from this idiom. In 1922 he married Rita Piacenza.
