Art Grace Tully Project November 17, 2001 Oscar-Claude Monet Monet was born in Paris on December 14, 1840 though when he was still a child he moved to LeHarve. When Monet was a child he never took school seriously. He began to draw caricature pictures in the side of his book. He started to do this very well and then started to draw caricatures of the people in his town, LeHarve. In 1958 he met up with Eugene Boudin who had encouraged Monet to go further than caricature portraits and explore a little. He took his advice after seeing the wisdom of the man and began exploring natures colors and forms. Later in 1861 he entered the calvary regiment of the military and traveled to Algeria. In 1862 he returned to Paris and began his artistic work in Gleyre's studio. His family did not wish for him to go to this place but he went against there requests. He...
