... The different purposes for which the organisation uses ICT The company I have been investigating is Doncaster Police. I will be finding out information about Doncaster Police by using the internet and also asking people who have had experience in the Police force. Doncaster Police is a district of South Yorkshire Police whose headquarters are based at Snig Hill in Sheffield. The force is divided into 6 districts at: * Doncaster * Barnsley * Rotherham * Sheffield Central * Sheffield North * Sheffield South The main aims of the police are to protect life and property, the prevention and detection of crime, the prosecution of offenders and to maintain the Queen's peace. The police use ICT in a wide range of uses to achieve these aims: * Storage and sharing of electronic information * Radio communications * Telecommunications The main priorities of Doncaster police are to reduce: * Street crime * Domestic Burglary * Class A Drug Dealing * Community Cohesion - by developing a
