... Rationale {110 words} The issue I am studying is does "listening to hip-hop music influence teenagers to commit violent acts". I am a fan of hip-hop music and have always been interested in the allegations that suggest hip-hop lyrics have a negative effect. Some sociologists, politicians and the media in particular argue that exposure to violent lyrics will have long term effects resulting in them becoming more violent, aggressive and rebellious, whilst others argue that it is an excuse for the growing number of violent/deviant acts present in society, is a form of expression and a way to deal with the harsh realities of life, alienation and does not lead to deviant activity.
