Legalizing Heroin Don't you just hate it when you come home to a house that has been burgled or look across to an elderly lady being mugged; well this is a main point to my argument. So ladies and gentleman, good evening and today I'm going to talk about the legalization of heroin and why i'm for it. Heroin is the main reason for crime. Heroin-related deaths number in the hundreds every year, while some analysts attribute as much as 70 percent of all property crimes to heroin. The government ranks heroin crimes within the top ten for violent crime per capita and within the top five for property crime. During 1980, nearly 20 percent of all reported arrests in the England were for drug violations. That figure, 65,101, exceeds the number of arrests for any category of major offense except burglary.
