Kant developed the Categorical Imperative as a way of determining morality, placing great importance on duty and good will. Certain aspects of his moral philosophy are noticeably strong, however I argue that they are outweighed by a number of convincing weaknesses. Kant's view is that the presence of a good will is what makes an action morally right, regardless of the consequences. The morality of an action must be assessed by the motivation behind it, as the outcome of our behaviour is beyond our control. According to Kant "it is impossible to conceive of anything at all in the world, or even out of it, which can be taken as good without qualification, except a good will".
