The Religion of Baha'i The religion of Baha'i is a young religion with older roots in traditional religions such as Islam. The first Baha'is were followers of Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri, an Iranian Persian born to a noble family in Tehran, and came to be known as Baha Allah. The Baha'i followers consider Palestine to be the most Holy land, and the Kitab al-aqdas as the most holy book. After the death of Ali Nuri, his eldest son, Abbas Effendi received the title Abd al-Baha, and became the leader of the Baha'is. He began traveling the world and spreading the message of the Baha'is which includes the necessity of unification of mankind. Followers of Baha'i declare that the purpose of religion is to be the promotion of amity and concord. Baha'i clearly maintains the principle of equal rights between men and women, insists on education, and does not favor wealth...
