Why there is an overwhelming women converts despite the fact that Islam is known to be an oppressive religion for women? Islam is often portrayed as a religion which is in favour of menflock who suppress, exploit and force women to stay in the house. As a result the practicing Muslim women have been stereotyped as backward, inferior and uneducated. However one must understand that Islam is not to blame for women being kept in the house or arranged marriages.
