Christians believe that life according to biblical teachings is sacred and that it is a gift from God. Therefore it is seen that life should be valued and preserved. This is known as the Sanctity of Life. As well as this, Christians believe that God has created humans and so everything that happens must be for a reason and that it is all part of his plan for salvation. This means that only God has the right to decide when a human life should start and end. Therefore humans cannot decide to take the life of another human, only God can do this. Christians place all their beliefs in the teachings of the Bible and the 10 Commandments, here the sixth commandment states, "You shall not murder"1 (Exodus 20.13) this applies to all stages of the pregnancy.
