When mass disasters such as the Bali bombing, World Trade Centre and Lockerbie occur, there is a moral obligation that the individuals involved need to be identified to ensure that their families have the peace of mind of knowing the truth rather than speculating. In the past there have been several methods used to identify individuals, including using articles belonging to the victims' in order for their families to recognise. More recently, methods such as anthropology, odontology are being used to identify individuals. However, in each method there are many difficulties, including the type of medical notes possessed by the victim or victims.
