Social Psychology deals with the way that individuals and groups of people interact with one another. This approach to Psychology is closely related to Sociology. It typically employs laboratory experiments alongside empirical and quantitative studies and computer-based modelling.

Why Study Social Psychology?

Social Psychology is one of the five core approaches in psychological study. The essays, projects and assignments you undertake in this part of the Psychology AS or A Level will give you an advanced understanding of human motivations, influences and behaviours transferred between individuals and social groups.

Social Psychology: What Will I Study?

You might write essays discussing the relevance of social models such as Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs in relation to humanist needs theories.
