The role of imagery in recall Abstract This research is an attempt to explore the area researched by many psychologists in the past. The main experimental concept comes from Paivio and is based on his work in 1968. The aim of this experiment is to further investigate this previous work and to explore whether images are recalled better than words. The research method is a laboratory experiment, with an independent measure design. The sample of participants was a representation of further education college students, consisting of 30 students. We found that, similarly to all the previous research in this subject, that images are recalled better than words. The hypothesis was accepted at the p <0.005 level of significant which is highly significant. The Unrelated t test was carried out for this experiment.
