Introduction: Sleep is acknowledged to be a mandatory function of our everyday life. Like all other human processes, such as eating and drinking for example, sleep is only dealt with as a serious issue when it is missed, or not completely fullfilling. In the modern and frantic world we live in, we are often forced to abandon it, or reduce it to a fraction of the amount needed, in order to keep up with the pace. This is a hazard by itself, as sleep is an integral part of our well-being. Craving naps during the day, dozing off at random times, anxiety and grogginess are all symptoms of the lack of it. Lack of sleep makes humans more prone to diseases, reduces energy levels and can cause emotional instability...at least this is what is widely believed, since there is not sufficient scientific proof to back these theories up yet.
