Positive view A family is meant to be a loving environment, and most families are, with children learning how to care for each other from a very young age and it isn't usually until later that they witness violence. The family provides a number of functions including socialisation, emotional stability, economic security, reproduction of the species and identity. Children learn the most through the family as they are the people they mix with from a very young age. Parents should also have a strong relationship before having children anyway and be an organised and caring couple before hand. One or the other or both should have a good job for money reasons.
