Developmental Psychology: What's This?
Developmental Psychology is the study of the changes in human psychology that happens during life, from the infant stage through development as an adult and into older age. Developmental Psychology can include cognitive development as well as linguistic abilities and social and emotional development.
Why Study Developmental Psychology?
Developmental Psychology is one of the five core approaches in psychological study. It is widely used to assess the human ability to acquire skills in social settings as well as emotional issues, moral perspectives and the sense of personal identity.
Developmental Psychology: What Will I Study?
You may be asked to complete coursework and essays on issues such as child development and learning, the sense of attachment and behavioural theories. And there may be other assignments on disrupted families, learning from other people, and the influence of poverty on criminal behaviour.
