The Canadian Census defines family as "a husband and wife with or without children who have never married, or a parent with one or more children never married, living together in the same dwelling." I personally do not agree with this definition of family, it concentrates too much on the number of people that make up a family rather than the love, compassion and strength shared between a family. It is the constant love and compassion that constitutes what a family is. Numerous people feel that due to the revolutionary changes over the past twenty years, families in Canada are destined to die out. It is believed that the main reasons that they will die out are due to the increase in divorce rates, the fact that fewer people are deciding to marry and many couples are having fewer or no children at all.
