Maths Assignment - Number 0601027 During my first school experience in a year 1 class, I was asked to plan a lesson on odd and even numbers. This was the second in a series of lessons working towards the National Curriculum target; Mathematics, Key Stage 1, Number; 2b; to recognise sequences, including odd and even numbers to 30 then beyond. The majority of the class could count up to 20 and most had been able to recognise the odd and even numbers 1-10 during the first session. The work in this area would lead into sessions on place value in subsequent weeks. My objective was to develop the children's understanding by introducing them to larger odd/even numbers up to 20 or up to 100 for the more able.
