Both religion and philosophy are dominant themes that consistently appear in the lives of these people. There are definite reasons for this pattern, some of which include pressuring from the family and the relationship between the theme of religion and philosophy to psychology. All of these reasons aide in explaining why many influential psychologists form such close bonds to the fields of philosophy and religion. In the early history of psychology many of its developers lived in an era of determined choices. When these psychologists were young men, little freedom was given to them in what they could become.
