Personally I feel that evacuation was the right step in ensuring the children’s safety

In 1939 war broke out across Europe, described as one of the first "Total Wars" it involved Britain's entire population. The war effort helped Britain carry on despite the brutalities. The threat of bombing meant that the vast population were unsafe. THE threat of bombing mainly led to Evacuation. Late August 1939 introduced a wide spread operation to ensure the safety of infants and teachers, they were evacuated to the countryside some were evacuated overseas. This substantial change effected different people on different levels, along with the evacuees the parents of the evacuees, foster parents and teachers were also affected. The most obvious group involved on the operation were the evacuees. They were sent away from home and made to live in a new environment with strangers. Many children were too young to understand what was happening. Countless children opposed evacuation but soon accepted it as a new way...
