At the beginning of the holocaust Jewish children and students were turned on by their friends, their friends avoided them and became hostile, unfriendly and spiteful. Jewish children were bullied, beaten and finally banned from schools. All synagogues were burnt. Some children hid with their families in concealed closets, holes, or even sewers. This would deprive children of their childhood because they had to stay in there for weeks or even months. Sometimes if other people knew they were in there they would give them food. Other children hid their identity by living with fake families or travelling through the country and living Christian lives. As...
