There is more to the image than meets the eye. Introduction For this project each of us picked one picture to analyse from both a denotative and connotative level while linking the three pictures though a common theme to make the analysis more coherent. We used the theories on photography that Des thought us to look through photo albums to find images that appealed to us. The seminars gave us experience in analysing images and we studied various photography theory books from the library. The three images all come from different countries and were taken years apart but all deal with subjects that when analysed from a connotative level deal with entrapment in different forms. Robert will be dealing with a picture of children in a dump in Brazil, Michael will look at a picture of children in Vietnam and John will look at of commuters in London.
