Joseph Davison 11C History Explain the differing reactions of people in Britain to the policy of evacuating children during WW2 People in Britain had differing reactions towards the evacuation of children in Britain depending on who they where. Parents had different reactions than their children because the experiences of the evacuation would be different. The carers who took the children into their homes also had different reactions. Parents questioned the need for evacuation from the cities and did not see the relevance of it. Parents often did not know where the children were going to be evacuated to. This made evacuation unpopular with the parents and many questions were raised. Parents wanted to know who would look after their children and where their children were going. Lots of unhappy children were sent away because of evacuation. They did not want to leave their parents and in return their parents did not want to leave them....
