Question2 Explain the different reactions of people in Britain to the policy of evacuating children during the Second World War. During the Second World War, there were varied reactions to the operation Pied Piper - the evacuation of children. It was called Operation Pied Piper in relation to the children's story of Pied Piper of Hamlinton. This is where all the towns' children were enticed from their homes by Pied Piper. My intention of this essay is to describe the different reactions of different groups of people to evacuation. Before they were evacuated, the British evacuee children had more than likely never been away from their parents. The large majority of evacuee children were very nervous of leaving their families behind and going to live with strangers.
