Scene Five includes three characters: Audrey, Angela, and Donald. Angela is described as pretty, with ringlet curls in blue ribbons. Audrey is said to be short, with straight hair and "cheap owl-like metal framed glasses". These descriptions suggest that Angela has the higher status in this scene. Angela is implied to be everything that Audrey isn't, but wants to be. Audrey is described as having an "extremely aggressive expression" and "disgruntled" as she watches Angela with her doll. These descriptions put forward the impression that Audrey is jealous of Angela. The three children are "playing house". Angela is being possessive of her doll, and Donald is playing the dad.
