Computer and Young Children The computer and Internet are considered one of the most technological advances of the twentieth century. Also, the Internet is quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of communication. Computers can be found almost everywhere, at schools, libraries, hospitals, and homes. So it is not surprising that young children will use computers in beneficial ways that is developmentally appropriate, and like any other tool it can also be misused. Everywhere you see, computers have greatly changed, or rather improved, the lives of so many. Anyone who works with computers can tell how addictive it can be like smoking. This essay examines the children's use of computers and the potential of computers that reshape children's lives both positively and negatively.
