In the four short stories, Growing Up, Flight, Superman and Paula Brown's new snowsuit, Your Shoes, lots of controversial themes and issues are brought up such as death, violence and growing up. All of these short stories however, share one thing in common - the overall theme of change. Through reading these stories it is clear that they are all about change. The first story I read was Growing Up. It was immediately obvious from the title that this would be about growing up; thus it had to involve change in some way. Having a title such as "Growing Up" gave the reader and idea of what to expect from this. I expected change, and possibly a cathartic moment in a person's life. With Flight,...
