Children's Literature Journals Grandad's Magic - By Bob Graham Plot: This story is about a young girl, named Alison who is very fascinated by two porcelain dogs that sit on her mantel piece in her home. Her Grandma and Grandad come over to visit and Alison's Grandad shows her some magic tricks. Alison becomes intrigued by the magic and decides to show Grandad one of her tricks, which is jugging. Although Alison is not very good at this she still has fun. Then one Sunday Alison's family is sitting down to lunch, where her mother has placed the two porcelain dogs as decoration on the table. Grandad then decides to try an old trick that he has not tried in a long time. His trick backfires and he ends up knocking one of the porcelain dogs to the ground. Fortunately enough Max, Alison's brother, catches it. Alison's Grandad then tries to make...
