Autism belongs to a family of related brain conditions affecting behavior early in life. Physicians often refer to autism and these other conditions with a single name -- pervasive developmental disorder. I've read an article in TIME magazine, their documentary talked about a family with two autistic children, one of which severely diagnosed, imagined that he was, in fact, the transformer toy that he was playing with.
