Abbas Ameli There are arguments both for and against the notion that Tony Blair has embraced a Presidential style of leadership during his extending years in power. One of the arguments in favour of the proposition of a presidential leadership by Blair is the centralisation of power that has been taking place in recent years, starting from 1997 when the Labour govt came to power after an absence of 18 years with the leadership of Tony Blair. Since then Tony Blair has not only been unashamed to exercise greater degrees of informal power, he has also been reluctant in keeping formal structures unchanged.
