Cameromism and thatcherism

Have a little read: ... Does Cameron's Conservatism owe more to Traditional Conservatism than Thatcherism? I think that Cameron's idea of conservatism is more like traditional conservatism, rather that Thatcher's. Traditional conservatism believes that "the community is the basis of society". This means that they have faith in society, and believe in the idea of communities being close. They are very suspicious about individualism. Cameron also believes that there should be focus on society and community. He believes that we should abandon economic competition as our countries central aim, and have a 'socio-centric' community. This is where we are concerned with improving the living standards of society, e.g. single parent families. Thatcher however, believes on the "fixation on the individual". She believed that individual choice is important, e.g. the right to private healthcare, or private education. She thinks that free individuals will be independent, self-sufficient, and prudent.
