Political Apathy in 2001 Jonathan Mitchell a) Political Apathy is the term used to describe a situation where the public are disinterested in Politics. To be apathetic about something is to not care and to not show interest so therefore by definition Political Apathy is to show no concern and no commitment to Political decision making. Specifically, Political Apathy is related to General Elections and the degree of Political Apathy in a nation can be roughly judged by turnout at elections. Also Political Apathy can be related to be people's involvement in political parties and other political organisation to be a political activist is to be involved in politics and allied to certain causes beliefs and political groups, in a sense Political Apathy is the Polar opposite of this: to be disinterested, passive, uninvolved and in short not care.
