An Analysis Of September 11 2001 In The List of Rational Choice Theory The events of September 11 2001, brought directly to many of us in our homes via live media feeds, constant news updates and non-stop blanket coverage that carried on for many days after the actual event, thrust terrorism into the centre stage of our attention. While not the most horrific event in history, nor one with the highest death count, its immediacy, unexpectedness and its target- the tallest buildings in the financial capital of the world's biggest democracy and market economy- left many of us with images and emotions we will be unlikely to forget. In the aftermath, much time and ink has been spent attempting to ask why this event occurred. It is undoubtedly irrational for any individual to sacrifice himself in a senseless act of violence.
