PHYSICS - INVESTIGATION OF A FAN AIM A small fan can be driven by a 3-coil dc. motor, this investigation aims to inspect and explore this. For my investigation I have decided to examine the relationships between voltage, current, power and the frequency of the five-bladed fan. HYPOTHESIS I expect there to be a positive correlation between voltage and frequency, so as the voltage is increased the fan will spin faster, meaning the time period will decrease. Also, using the formula 'Power = Current x Voltage' (P=IV) I would expect the power output to rise quite significantly as the voltage is increased due to it being calculated by the product of two rising values. METHOD The fan was secured to the bench using a g-clamp. This was due to the fact that, in preliminary experiments, with sufficient current the fan was capable of propelling itself along the surface.
