Physics Explored

AS and A Level Physics Defined

An AS Level or A Level in Physics gets students to use the language of mathematics to develop an advanced understanding of physics and the physical relationships that govern the way the universe works.

Why Study Physics at A Level?

If you're interested in the science behind our universe, including the planets, stars, gravity, radioactivity, electric fields and energy - this is the course for you. Physics is central to furthering our understanding of life, its history and its future.

What Will I Study?

You might write essays and coursework on electrical currents, the Earth's forces and thermal physics. Your practical projects and assignments might cover qualitative and quantitative evaluations, linear motion and kinetics.

Further Study After A Level Physics

The projects and assignments you undertake in A Level Physics would prepare you for studying university degrees such as Mathematics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Astronomy and various Engineering courses.

What our users think of the Physics essays in this section:

"Excellent well detailed investigation - I really found few errors with it, and would expect it got really high, if not maximum marks. I particularly liked how you left text boxes of where the marks are, and where the examiner can leave their marks. This shows exactly where your marks are so the examiner doesn't miss them. Every single point needed for maximum marks was at the very least attempted, and I would expect to see top marks from this. TSR User:Phobia27"

"A very clear and thorough understanding of the mathematics behind the trigonometry involved is shown. The formatting and notation used is correct, but clearly quite distorted by the fact that it has been typed up and saved in an unsavoury format. TSR User:DavyS"

"Despite having a couple of physics teachers pet hates (citing wikipedia; graphs with qualitative x-axes), the material is presented in too detailed a way for these to detract from the depth and understanding of the material. The physics is sound (if a little patronising) and ranges from across the syllabus. As well as having a little fun, the essay does stick quite clearly to modern physics syllabuses. After considering the theoretical background of the physics, the author proceeds to talk about applications of the physics (tick in modern exam boards) and then the social and economic impact advantages (another tick). "very useful on my study. thank you"

"Good read, the plan was thorough and detailed. I thought the analysis could have done with more, well, analysis, and the same case for the evaluation! It's common to see investigations to have a well detailed plan, but then by the time they get to the evaluation, the author 'burns out' and rushes the last parts a little. Other than that, it was a good piece of coursework. TSR User:Phobia27"
