Have a little read: ... I have been asked to describe the different leadership and coaching styles used within my sport, highlighting the differences in the approaches. The sport I have chosen is football. Also in this assignment I have to explain the skills and qualities I believe a coach requires, to be successful and explain what role a coach should adopt when delivering sessions to groups or individuals. Coaches will have their own preferred style or manner of coaching. This will revolve around their personality, temperament, their philosophy towards the game, the players age and ability levels. They should be encouraged 'too be themselves'. Different leadership and coaching styles in football.> Command> Guided discovery> Questions and answers Command This style, the coach makes all decisions, and the footballer is required to co-operate. The coach decides ion what is done and the athlete or athletes are not involved in the decision making, although athletes are encouraged to ask questions
