B.Brecht: ‚Leben des Galilei' Handlungsverlauf. Galileo Galilei lebte im 17. Jahrhundert zuerst in Padua, wo er Lehrer für Mathematik an der Universität war. Dies war die Zeit der Inquisition, nicht nur in Italien. Zu dieser Zeit war das Ptolemäische Weltbild überall verbreitet, dass heißt, die Erde war der Mittelpunkt des Alls und alles drehte sich um sie und den Papst als das von Gott erwählt Oberhaupt. Die Kirche stellte also für sich selbst die Hauptsache dar, was zur Folge hatte, dass alle Forscher keine wirkliche Forschung betreiben konnten. Sie durften zwar frei forschen, doch auf keinen Fall durfte das Weltbild zerstört oder widerlegt werden, da es ja 'von Gott und der Bibel' so gewollt war. Was bringt es einem also, neue Dinge zu entdecken, sie aber nicht präsentieren zu dürfen? Als Musiker kann man es so vergleichen: Man übt, jedoch darf man nicht auftreten...sonst wird man gefoltert oder sofort getötet??? Allerdings...
