Have a little read: ... Diversity in the public services Through out history the world has been divided in so many ways. The main two causes being religion and country of origin. As time has gone on we have allowed these differences to divide us and this has usually resulted in war. 5000 years ago- the Bronze Age begins 40AD the Romans that originated in Italy conquered most of the known world. 450-1066- Britain was ruled by Celts then, Romans, then Saxons, then Danes and then Vikings. 1066 William I, known as William the conqueror, Invaded Britain and killed the present ruler, Harold. Diversity during 1800AD-2008AD 1805- Napoleon vs. Nelson. Two military leaders representing England and France fought at the battle of Trafalgar over leadership of both nations. 1833- Parliament abolished slavery where people had been discriminated because of the colour of their skin. Unfortunately finance and public opinion allowed discrimination to continue and even today people are still illegally discriminated
