Have a little read: ... Analyse the representation of young people in any text studied in class? The Representation of teenagers differs depending on the country they are produced in and by what cultural issues they are applying to. Skins, which is made in Britain for the media institution Channel 4 represents teens in a different way to American produced shows such as Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl was bought for Britain by ITV2, which has a target audience for young people; it is broadcasted on digital channel, which shows that it is aimed at young people who are the most likely type of audience to own a digital receiver. American media represents teenagers in a different way to British Media Institutions. In a British Media Organisation, they represent teenagers as people who have something in common in some level of their lives; where as American organisations reinforce a sense of cultural grouping. I.e. Jocks, Cheerleaders, Geeks, Skater kids
