It does this by getting rid of all information it does not need. It removes all noise the human ear cannot hear. It also gets rid of sounds you cannot hear because another sound is louder than it, so you can't hear it. Also, there are certain sounds that the ear hears, so if there is a sound which we don't hear very well it will not play it. This gets rid of some of the information, but the way it compresses it is like this: Music is converted to a series of 0's and 1's on the computer. If there is a sequence of 5 1's it will just say there a five
