Recent Reviews of Newspapers & Magazines Essays

What our users think of the Newspapers & Magazines essays in this section:

"I found this to be incredibly helpful piece of analytic writing"
sidwez
"A short explaination about magazines being a type of advertisement is included in the essay - which shows that the writer is not just thinking about the similarities and differences between the two magazines in question. There is some good insight into why magazines are so different from each other - depending on the target market. There are detailed descriptions of the two magazine covers from CosmoGirl and FHM. The techniques used on magazine covers, which attract customers are also discussed and some insight is given. A slightly longer conclusion, to sum up the main points of the essay could have been included. Lastly, it would have been good if the issue number of the magazines had been included - as well as the date that they came out. TSR User: boosh_slayer"

"A good point to start you in the right direction"

"This was an inciteful review of two contrasting articles. The writer in particular shows how emotive language is used for political ends. The hippies had I believe a valid counterculture, but are so often presented as the dregs of society, this came over well. It would have got 5 stars if the two articles had been included also, but this is no reflection on the writer's comments, it was an oversight."
